Where Air Becomes Solid is a collection of photogaphs, viewing devices, diagrams, and artifacts inspired by the 19th century liasion between arctic explorer, Elisha Kent Kand and his young lover, the spiritualist Maggie Fox.
Through a series of works and installations, I used Kane and Fox’s story to explore the limits of vision and knowledge, focusing on liminal spaces where visibility ceases and immediate perception gives way to ediated knowledge.
